The first week is all about comfort, routine, and helping your puppy feel safe, loved, and secure. Set up a quiet space, offer fresh water, keep the same food at first, begin potty breaks right away, and plan plenty of naps. Introduce family members and new experiences slowly, avoid overwhelming your puppy, and contact your veterinarian if you notice persistent appetite loss, vomiting or diarrhea, extreme lethargy, breathing trouble, or concerns about dehydration.
